Callao Cave

Get lost in the stunning nature’s architecture at the Callao Cave, one of the limestone caves in Peñablanca, Cagayan. The cave consists of seven chambers and various formations, including the famous “The Chapel.” It is also home to the oldest human remains ever found in the country and in Southeast Asia.

The Chapel, a chamber turned into a cathedral by the locals, continues to mesmerize tourists inside the Callao Cave, with its natural rock altar and stunning skylight. A few steps from the cave, tourists can watch the circadian flight of millions of bats at dusk, experience the “Mororan” phenomenon, kayak, swim, or go fishing on the Pinacanauan River.

Cape Engaño Lighthouse 

See what the Cape Engaño Lighthouse in Palaui Island, Santa Ana has looked like through history. A historic stone lighthouse accessible by boat and hiking paths in Palaui Island in Santa Ana, Cagayan. Construction of this historical landmark began on September 21, 1888. The Spaniards named it “Cape Engaño,” which means “to entire or attract”, because when they first arrived on the island, they were amazed by its natural beauty.

Baggao’s Bluewater and Cave System

A one-of-a-kind art of nature and truly a must-see place when visiting Baggao. This scenery is known for its majestic, world-class lagoon and cascading waterfalls, formed by its limestone features. The place offers a gushing stream from the cave mouth, rushing towards the pool, which is surrounded by wisps of tropical vines, bouquets of wild orchids, and ferns. Exploring further within the cave system, one will find an Olympic-sized pool with stunning, glimmering stalactites. 

The cave’s geological formation is truly enhanced, offering a tremendously beautiful display of speleothems and speleogens. It has a terrific stone arrangement, a passage, a lagoon for swimming, photography, and cave diving.
