Kadayawan Festival 

Kadayawan Festival is the Davao Region’s most popular and most anticipated festival. It is celebrated annually in Davao City every August. It serves as a thanksgiving event for the gift of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of the harvest, and the serenity of living. Derived from the Mandaya word “madayaw,” meaning treasured or valuable, as the locals use this time to give thanks for the season’s bountiful harvest. In addition, the festival honors the 11 tribes of Davao. 

Every year, people flock from different places to experience the different activities and rituals conducted. As a tourist, visit to truly feel the essence of Davaoeño culture and history.

Araw ng Dabaw

Araw ng Dabaw is a city-wide celebration running from March 1 to 16 that commemorates the charter anniversary of Davao City. This event features a pageant, a grand civic parade, and other events that highlight the city’s history and heritage. 

Duaw Dabaw (Visit Davao) 

Duaw Dabaw (Visit Davao) is a citywide celebration happening throughout the month of June in Davao City. The festival promotes tourism, local culture, sports, arts, and community engagement through various events and activities. Major events include cheerleading competitions, trail running races, pickleball tournaments, Pride Parade activities, and cultural and entertainment showcases across the city.

Kadayawan Cultural Village 

The Kadayawan Village, located inside Magsaysay Park, houses replicas of the traditional abodes of Davao City’s 11 Indigenous and Muslim tribes. More than just a tourist attraction, it serves as a platform to promote cultural preservation, serving as a venue for activities that showcase indigenous crafts, arts, culinary, music, and rituals, especially during the annual Kadayawan Festival 

Malagos Garden Resort
