Butuan Archaeological Park

Butuan Archaeological Park is the home of the watercraft most pertinent to Philippine history. Located in Barangay Libertad, the museum has the remains of Butuan boats, or ‘balangays,’ which were used by early Malay settlers in the country. View other artifacts unearthed from the site and learn more about Butuan’s history and culture, which date back to the pre-Hispanic era.

Banza Church Ruins

Discover the grand stone church built in 1625 by Spanish friars, embraced by a type of banyan tree, locally known as balete. This magnificent church was tragically destroyed by Moro pirates in 1753. Once hailed as the region’s most beautiful church, its former splendor still lingers in the ruins and is now one of the must-see attractions in Butuan.
